Carbs are the first things everybody avoids when they start dieting. Some people even stop consuming them like in the famous Atkins diet (A high-protein, high-fat diet in which carbohydrates are severely restricted). This diet is actually bad for you! Check out this list to learn why carbs are actually your best friends.
They are a Macro-nutrient
Macro-nutrients are those we need in large scales (carbohydrates, protein, and fats), responsible for giving us the most part of the metabolic energy of our organism.
They should be 55-60% of your daily intake.
Crazy right? Yet very true. The daily energy we need should come from carbohydrates.
You can found them anywhere
Most of the food we eat are carbohydrates, like bread, pasta, beans, and fruits and vegetables.

They can be simple or complex
Simple carbohydrates are the ones we can found in pastries and candy but, also in fruits and milk. These are the ones that are high in energy but lack vitamins and minerals.
Complex carbohydrates give us vitamins, minerals and fiber. Some complex carbohydrates are rice and vegetables.
They got fiber
Got some problems doing number 2? You probably lack fiber in your diet which could easily be found in carbohydrates! Get some complex carbs in your diet and you will see a huge change.
Now that we know carbs are good why do some people avoid them? People tend to go for the simple carbs which are full of calories. Making the small change from white bread to whole wheat could make a huge difference. Stopping consumption would make your body eat up your muscle and start using your fat as energy (ketosis) which in the long road could become Ketoacidosis.
